Injury time
The game is up – the Julius Bär See-Arena just warms up and invites to the injury time. The games, and not only the games have to be discussed – the Julius Bär See-Arena is the communicative meeting point.

The stage offers a daily home match. In addition we present a daily ritual: every day at 5.45 pm a small vociferous performance will take place on the platform.

Besides the Julius Bär See-Arena offers a home match for the musical and cultural scene of the region. Real stadiums become stages – also the Julius Bär See-Arena. Catering, music and the artistic potential of the Staatstheater Stuttgart are accomplishing the scene for a felicitous home match on the Eckensee at the Stuttgarter Schloss.

Sport meets art. - Live on stage

A deconstructive idea
Germany’s cities are prepared for the FIFA World Cup 2006™ and welcome all fans with their slogan: "A time to make friends™". Every city is searching a unique selling proposition to stand out from the crowd and primarily to attract the attention of the media.  Full of sportive verve and in the spirit of the World Cup the Julius Bär See-Arena creates an outstanding atmosphere for the visitors, guests and inhabitants of the World-Cup-City Stuttgart in soccer-summer 2006.

This deconstructive pitch is the atmospheric enlargement of Stuttgart’s inner city. It is the centre of attraction for the guests from Stuttgart, the region and from all over the world. The Julius Bär See-Arena offers a space for communication before, during and after the games – and all that in the home town of Jürgen Klinsmann, the coach of the National Soccer Team.

Following up to the last successful platform in 2005 during the Festival “Theatre of the world”, Janine Reichel, an architecture student, conceptualised this deconstructive pitch.

The term Deconstructivism was formed by Marc Wigley and Phillip Johnson, who curated the 1988 MOMA exhibition “Deconstructivist architecture” which crystallized the movement, and brought fame and notoriety to its key practitioners.
Structure and form are becoming simultaneous deconstructed and again constructed.

The Julius Bär See-Arena is an accessible artistic intervention in public space. The topic soccer is playfully treated through the form. Soccer as a metaphor; the creativity of the game becomes an aesthetic part of the space in the inner city through the Julius Bär See-Arena.

You have the opportunity to relax on one of the two grandstands. Just enjoy in the middle of an urban area the beautiful view at the constructional ensemble around the Eckensee and savour the international ambiance of this sporting event.

This stylised pitch with soccer’s lawn beneath your feet and the goals as bars arranges an authentic atmosphere and will inspire the soccer fan also beside the stadium.

Let’s celebrate the goals of this summer.

Black and white melodies

guessing the national anthems

From the office - right on the pitch, guessing the national anthems.

Daily at 12:30 you have the chance to refresh your cultural knowledge. We play some anthems; you know – guess – mark with a cross. The winners will receive a little gift.
